Time has moved on, but great memories of the FIFA World Cup 2006 remain in the hearts and minds of all those who were here to enjoy the world’s most popular sporting event in Frankfurt.

The World Cup has come and gone, but first-class sport remains in Frankfurt am Main. Thanks to Eintracht Frankfurt, the city’s Div. 1 football side, the Skyliners, Frankfurt’s professional basketball team, or the Lions, our redisent ice-hockey cracks, professional sport in Frankfurt am Main is as popular as ever. With the Frankfurt Marathon, Ironman Germany and the professional cycling race “Around the Henninger Turm”, Frankfurt is able to offer the sports world an excellent selections of international sporting events. Frankfurt also plays host to the annual JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, during which more than 60,000 runners representing over 2,000 companies take to the city streets. Finally, there’s the International German Gymnastics Festival, to be held in Summer 2009. “We’re building Bridges” is the motto of the world’s largest popular sports festival, which promises to turn all of Frankfurt in to a gigantic sports arena.
