This year marks the 11th anniversary of the popular jazz concert traditionally commemorating the Day of German Unity.
On 03rd October, Frankfurt locals and visitors are invited to come to the Römerberg, Frankfurt’s old town centre, to celebrate the Day of German Unity. The City of Frankfurt am Main offers this open-air jazz spectacle to its citizens absolutely free of charge. Here, they will find an open-air jazz festival that not only impresses with its richness of contrast but also symbolises Frankfurt’s love of jazz, its cosmopolitan outlook and its openness to international cultures.
Frankfurt is the Germany's leading centre of jazz music
The jazz concerts celebrating the Day of German Unity have been very popular with Frankfurt’s population, attracting many thousands of revellers from the very start. The idea of "Jazz zum Dritten" (“Jazz on the Third”) has proven to be a very good one, confirming the deep roots that jazz still has in the Main metropolis. Frankfurt am Main is known to be Germany’s leading centre of jazz music. This year’s concert promises to once again be of the highest quality, the initiators having conceived a musical programme that will present jazz in its all of its many manifestations.
