The form of the Wäldchestag remains true to its tradition and, in the style of the “picnic in the woods” of the past, food and drink is still very much the focus of the event today. One modern component is the cultivation of several large summer gardens that define the landscape in the city forest. As befits a folk festival today, the diverse range of gourmet cuisine and drink will be accompanied by live music on various stages, fairground rides, amusement booths and craft stalls.
