Registration deadline: 14 days prior to arrival

"I am amazed by the power of my pictures in the Städel”, Kirchner noted in his diary on 21st December 1925. His relationships to the Städel and Frankfurt were close. The Städel Museum now pays tribute to one of the most prominent expressionist artists by assembling the first Kirchner retrospective to be put on display in Germany for 30 years. For the coming show, the museum’s own Kirchner collection, rated as one of the most significant in the world thanks to the numerous major works it encompasses, will be supplemented by some 170 further works representing every stage of the artist’s career.
