Traffic & Transport in and around Frankfurt

Public Transportation, Airport & Traffic in Frankfurt"All roads lead to Frankfurt!" That may sound a bit pretentious, but it's really not far from the truth. Frankfurt is home to continental Europe's largest airport, Germany's busiest train station and its most travelled motorway intersection.
In short: Frankfurt has become one of Europe's premier traffic hubs.

Frankfurt's superb traffic and transport networks guarantee that the city and the region can be reached quickly and easily from the four corners of the world. And that's an important aspect when you're living in one of the world's foremost finance centres. More than 4,000 flights from 129 airlines arrive at and depart from Frankfurt International Airport, or "Fraport", as it is referred to in trade circles, every week, servicing a total of 272 destinations in 106 countries. A further 350,000 travellers frequent Frankfurt's main train station every day; more than half of all ICE passengers use Frankfurt as their port of arrival or departure.

Finally, Frankfurt's giant autobahn intersection, connecting the national motorways A3 and A5, is used by an average of around 310,000 vehicles each and every day. These impressive figures show one thing: Frankfurt is accessible like no other city - and also the entire Frankfurt Rhine-Main region, which also disposes over a well-developed public transport system as well.
