through Frankfurt - with or without a handicap. All guests should be able to use and enjoy the city's tourist diversity without restrictions, which is why we have compiled the most important information for your city trip to Frankfurt here.

We were the first city in Hesse to certify over 30 tourist attractions according to the "Travel for All" labelling system to provide you with reliable and accurate information on the accessibility of travel offers in Frankfurt.

So regardless of whether you are looking for cultural experiences, culinary delights or other leisure activities - the programme suggestions are designed to inspire you and help you tailor your stay in Frankfurt to your personal requirements.

“Tourism for All”

is a labelling system for tourist options in Germany. The details of the participating institutions are recorded by independent investigators and certified by a test centre.

Toilets for guests with disabilities  

You will find a number of toilets for people with disabilities, particularly in the city centre. They are usually labelled with the wheelchair symbol.
Toilets for people with disabilities are accessible to all in public spaces at the following locations:

  • Bethmannpark, Mauerweg at the Orangerie
  • Brückenstraße, Am alten Sachsenhäuser Friedhof
  • Central station, between platforms 9 and 10 (with Euro locking system)
  • Hauptwache, underground and S-Bahn station, B level
  • Messe, underground station, B level (with Euro locking system)
  • Paulsplatz, corner Braubachstraße/Neue Kräme, opposite Tourist Info Römer

Further toilets for people with disabilities can be found in the large shopping centres, for example.

For centuries, Frankfurt has thrived on its good connections in all directions. Centrally located in Germany and Europe, Frankfurt's main railway station and airport hubs offer a variety of travel options. Many places in the city centre are also not far from each other and are easily accessible by public transport. Below you will find useful information to help you with your journey and planning journeys within Frankfurt.

City Tours and Round Trips  

Tours without steps, for blind and visually impaired guests.

Let yourself be guided comfortably through the city! Our trained tour guides will take you on a tour. They will guide you to exciting topics and the most interesting neighbourhoods in the city. Almost all of our tours can be guided without steps on request.

Walking tours for people with walking difficulties  

You can book a public tour every day to get to know Frankfurt am Main for the first time, which can be guided with as few steps as possible. Please inform the tour guide of your requirements at the start of the tour.

Numerous tours can also be booked for groups and the tour "Frankfurt's new Old Town and other highlights" is certified as "Travelling for All".

Round trips for people with walking disabilities  

We would be happy to book Frankfurt's certified tour guides exclusively for you for city tours in your bus. You can send us your enquiry via tour@infofrankfurt.de. Tip: At Omnibusbetrieb Fischer "Der Zwingenberger" you can book barrier-free coaches.

With the double-decker buses, you can experience unforgettable hop-on hop-off city tours through the metropolis on the River Main. Hop on and off as you please and explore the city. The buses have at least one wheelchair space.

Group offer: Tour for blind and visually impaired people  

The "Feeling Frankfurt" tour vividly describes Frankfurt's history and stories. You will get to know the sights around the Römerberg and are invited to get hands-on - all this to understand Frankfurt (both in the real and figurative sense)!
