Maintaining a high level of hygiene has always been a matter of course in the hotel trade. With the Covid-19 pandemic sadly still ongoing, hygiene is of course of even greater importance. To guarantee the health and safety of guests and staff during this acute phase, a number of protective measures for safeguarding against infection are in place at Frankfurt hotels. This way, you’ll be able to feel as safe as being at home.
In accordance with the German Infection Protection Act hotels and other accommodation establishments are allowed to reopen in Hesse. In terms of touristic stays a current negative test must be presented upon arrival and twice a week thereafter.

Reduction of contacts

Medical facemasks must be worn in the public areas of all hotels. Floor markings help guests keep the proper distance from one another while also serving to guide them to the appropriate location. Signs have been put up to inform guests of the hygiene measures in place. Seating in the hotels’ public areas, conference rooms and restaurants has been limited as required. Hotel staff have been trained in the subject matter and instructed to pass pertinent information on to hotel guests to make sure they adhere to the regulations without fail. To avoid direct hand contact between guests and staff, many hotels have implemented contact-free alternatives for checking in and checking out. Spatial dividers such as Plexiglas windows offer appropriate protection at reception desks and so on.

Increased cleaning intensity

To ensure even greater degrees of hygiene and cleanliness, public areas and hotel guest-rooms are being cleaned even more often and with specially recommended cleaning products. Disinfectant dispensers have also been set up at key contact points. Moreover, particularly exposed surfaces such as door handles and lift (elevator) buttons are regularly disinfected.

Specially adapted food and beverage offerings

Special measures are also in place in the hotels’ restaurants, thereby offering guests a safe and secure culinary experience. The food and beverage menus have been specially adapted, while various hygiene measures, e.g., the wearing of gloves, the use of packaged foods and the provision of staff-attended buffets, guarantee safe and hygienic dining. Appropriate precautions have also been taken in the banquet areas.
