The north side of Frankfurt's city works building is characterized by a glass façade, designed in a blend of classic and modern architectural style.

Architect: Ernst Gisel, Switzerland. Completion: 1990. The western side, on the other hand, is fashioned of traditional brickwork, featuring expressionist elements. The architectural remains of Frankfurt's original Jewish ghetto are highlighted in the integrated Museum Judengasse.
