Frankfurt Station is also an important interchange point for the local and regional public transport system. The new long-distance coach terminal on the southern side of Frankfurt’s main train station offers travellers various connection possibilities to destinations both near and far.
Public transportation
Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region dispose over a well-developed traffic infrastructure, including an excellent public transport network. In Frankfurt, public transport is definitely the best way to get around. From the main train station, the fairgrounds and the city centre are both only five minutes away. With so many mobility options available, even the shortest stopover or business visit is quickly turned into a brief Frankfurt holiday.
On foot, by bike or by car
The main sightseeing attractions of downtown Frankfurt are all situated within a twokilometre radius. Moreover, the entire city
centre from the Römerberg to the banks of the River Main is level and stepless and therefore easy to discover for wheelchair users and families with baby carriages. Covered bicycle racks are easy to find, while red cycling lanes traverse all of Frankfurt and thanks to its convenient connection to the Main Cycling Path (“MainRadweg”) and other longdistance cycling routes, Frankfurt is an ideal destination for cycling tourists.
