Frankfurt looks back on a highly entertaining 2018. Happily, 2019 promises to bring much of the same. Exciting exhibitions will be showing at the city’s many museums, while both the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Frankfurt Music Fair will be returning to the city with their excellent fringe programmes. And let’s not forget our array of annual festivals and celebrations. Last but not least, with the Museum of Modern Electronic Music and the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, two brand-new exhibition venues will be opening their doors for the very first time in early 2020.
New Frankfurt and the Anniversary of the Bauhaus Movement
Frankfurt’s transformation into a modern metropolis began in the 1920s. A structural, architectural and social change took place with the advent of the so-called ‘New Frankfurt’, a groundbreaking urban project that has stood the test of time. Three separate exhibitions on show during 2019 will be providing insights into the many different aspects of this ‘New Frankfurt’.
